BIOGRAPHY | WOLFGANG MWANJE
Wolfgang Mwanje was born and raised in Uganda, East Africa until the age of 12, then moved to London, England where his family felt there would be greater opportunities and prospects in such a fast growing world. When he was a child he loved all sports, His mother particularly noticed he loved swimming so always entered him into school competitions, at times against older competing kids t0o.
When he moved to London he discovered his love for basketball and was set to move to America at the age of 18 to play for a state Division 3 College, however when plans fell through Wolf continued his education in London and attended Brunel University, graduating with a 2.1 in Multimedia Technology Design. It’s also at Brunel where he discovered his love for dance, with the aid and influence of some incredible people he grew outside of the lecture room, participated in dance shows in the underground scene, appeared in the Semi-Finals of a television show called Got To Dance, and joined his first casting agency, appearing in two big campaigned adverts for Gatorade and Blackberry while still finishing his education.
Since graduating Wolf took dance to a professional level and had the pleasure of performing with some incredible artists namely Rihanna, Little Mix, Ellie Goulding, Will.I.Am, Stooshe and Rita Ora. Worked in movies such as “Jupiter Ascending”, “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Mama Mia” and “Aladdin. He has also been lucky enough to model and choreograph shows, in the underground scene to professional international stages.
The most rewarding part of being a creative for Wolf was instructing and teaching students about movement but also providing them with a space to discover, re-discover or simply just love and accept every part of who they were. This passion to instruct came early, a year into his dance journey to be exact and so he’s been doing it for over 11 years now, travelling all over the world as a dance instructor.
As far as the fitness world, Wolf became a Personal Trainer in search of new stimulation aside from the entertainment industry. He spent a lot of time developing his body for the industry so thought that furthering his knowledge would be helpful to where he was going. Wolf trained a few clients but found it hard to stay consistent while leaving for tours or other dance jobs that broke up the flow of their training. Instead he applied all his knowledge and started a personal and experimental journey of fitness.
So how did he become a “Ride” Group Indoor Cycling Instructor?! Wolf first got into “Ride” when he was recruited by a boutique brand in London known as Psycle London. Combining a love for movement, music, creativity, choreography, fitness and motivation he is now dedicated to helping people grow, experience, release, love, be grateful and feel alive through every opportunity he has. Wolf believes this has always been his life purpose and is so grateful to be where he is now.
Wolf has a passion for progression and Certified his skills as a “Ride” Group Indoor Cycling instructor by completing a course recognised by the ASCM and REPs, he is a qualified Personal Trainer Lv 3 and Fitness Instructor Lv2, Trigger Point Foam roller Lv 1 for pre and post workout recommendation. He has completed workshops and courses with MSc Zoë Ann Aston on Psychology on fitness experience, Primordial Sound Meditation with Certified Wellbeing Instructor Michelle Langer, and David Hamilton on his book “The Little book of Kindness”. He also has a strong passion for movement and and music, learning softwares like Garageband, Virtual DJ and Maschine to create musical journeys that make each event or workout memorable.
